Stress and wrong posture plays a big role in developing low back pain especially in women and over-weight person. Generally there are some reasons to get low back pain like:-&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Osteoarthritis of Lumbar spine:-&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;Osteoarthritis of the Lumbar and the throacic spine is very common in those who are used to heavy work. It may be because of previous injury to the spinal joint e.g. history of fall on the buttock.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Previous disease of joints&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Degenerative changes of the intervertebral disc.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;     2.    &lt;strong&gt;Lumbo Sacral Strain:-&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It may also occur in excessive bending and lifting or by the degenerative changes. Pain increases during evening hours.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;     3.   &lt;strong&gt;Osteoporosis of  the lumbar spines:-&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There is reduced bone mass per unit volume of the normal bone. The resistance of the bone is reduced. Lifting of an object in the forward bending position exerts the lumbar spines and develops back pain. There may be compression fracture of the vertebras which sometimes causes back pains.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;     4.   &lt;strong&gt;Prolapse Disc:-&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Prolapse disc is very common in the lumbar region which interferes the life style of a person due to pain in back or the leg.The inter-vertebral disc is a soft tissue which lies between the two vertebras. The intervertbral disc acts as buffer and neutralizes jerks. The disc is strong enough to bear jerks but after continous jerks and bad posture develops prolapse disc.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Actually i describe all about this, so that to know the concepts regarding these problems where I am giving some tips which are helpful in all kind of situations. So the patients suffering from low back pain must follow the following tips:-&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt; One should go for bed rest on hard bed but on little bit firm mattress in the prone position. Constant strain of neck and wrong postural habits are the commonest predisposing factors of neck pain. Once there is spondilitis, there is a possibility to have it for long. Hence it is advisable to get the treatment at the initial stages.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Neck should be in slightly lordotic position but neck can become in kyphotic position because of bad posture by which cervical muscles may be somewhat tender and hence range of motion is decreased. So i am giving the tips for patients who are suffering from muscular pain:-&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;One must not hold the head in one postion for a long time especially in forward bending.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;One should maintain the range of motion with exercises.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;One should avoid  thick pillows while sleep.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;One should go for hot water fomentation which is certainly going to reduce pain but avoid fan,coller,air-condition while doing fomentation  and after it  upto 45 minutes.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;One should improve the posture to reduce pain.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;One may use a cervical pillow or can use a rolled towel below the neck  but a small foam pillow of about 1 inch may be preferred.&lt;img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_LUzJgSqRN0Q/SNaLxDku9BI/AAAAAAAAAB4/6B2WQJ9sacM/s320/work_station_sitting.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248536090636121106" /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;Suggestions:--&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;A bed that is too hard may not be used. Although hard bed is benificial to the patients of cervical pain but too hard bed may increase the aches and pains.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Over use of muscle relaxants must be avoided.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Excessive and over use of pain killers must be avoided.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Cervical braces may be used for a short period. In cases, where pain increases with flexion,collar may be used with high part on the front and in cases where pain increases with extension of neck, collar may be used with high part on the back.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Cevical traction must be given only to those patients who are eligible for it.
